UNESCO World Heritage
The village of Björköby is located right in the centre of Finland´s first World Heritage site. UNESCO granted the area of Kvarken World Heritage status in 2006 because of the geological features and topography of the area shaped by glacial retreat. Here in Björköby, you can see the de Geer moraines, the tightest field of washboard moraine in the world. You can also study the land up-lift, the fladas,the glo-lakes and the erratics in the surrounding landscape.For more information please visit:
